HOW I GOT THIS BOOK: Review copy as a part of book tour by Reading Addiction book tour.
Love and heart transplant. A rather odd combination isn’t it? This very combination prompted me to pick the book when it was offered for review. Our female lead, Holly suffers from a condition that has made her blind and caused her heart to function poorly. She is badly in need of heart transplant. Chloe, our lead male character’s girlfriend dies in a car crash when they were returning from Chole’s parent’s place. Chole’s heart is a perfect match to Holly and thus happens the heart transplant. When Jax hears about this, he is outraged. He simply isn’t able to digest that Chole’s heart is alive and beating in other human’s body. He comes to detest Holly for it. Micah, Jax’s best friend befriends Holly and manages to change Jax’s attitude towards her. What follows is how Jax eventually falls in love with holly.
The story line was cohesive yet a bit predictable. The school of thought that a man could actually detest organ donation shocked me a bit. By large, it’s unrealistic too. The characterization was a bit off the mark when it came to Jax. I felt he got over Chole too soon. Holly’s character on the other hand, was perfect. She was the quintessential good girl who fell for the bad guy. Micah’s character almost compensated for Jax’s character in the beginning of the book. The language was simple and aided much in conveying the right emotions. The book by enlarge was a perfect reading baring a couple of blips in the form of unrealistic thread of story.
